The three revitalized small hydro power plants of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) in Uzice, Priboj and Prijepolje will be put into operation within the next month, Savo Bezmerevic, director executive for technical operation of production of energy at EPS, told eKapija yesterday at the Regulatory Conference of the Energy Week, Energy and Climate Change, organized by CEDEF.

The works are financed with the proceeds from the loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the reconstruction of 15 small hydro power plants. The EBRD loan for this project was secured back in 2011.

In addition to the said three, the small hydro power plants Raska, Radaljska Banja, Pod Gradom, Turica, Moravica, Sveta Petka, Sicevo, Temac, Sokolovica, Gamzigrad, Vucje and Jelasnica are also being revitalized.

Furthermore, as part of the EBRD finance program, EPS had also received funds for the construction of two new SHPPs, and the tender for the construction of SHPP Celije, near Krusevac, and Rovni, near Valjevo, on the existing dams, opened recently.
