Launch of direct Belgrade-Baku air service enabled – Serbia and Azerbaijan sign range of agreements on cooperation
– These are two important agreements. With one of them, we will improve the cooperation in the field of construction of road infrastructure and further develop trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan, whereas the signing of The Agreement on Air Transport creates conditions for the carrying out of air transport between the two countries through the launching of direct air services between Baku and Belgrade in both directions – Mihajlovic stated.
She pointed out that good political relations were an excellent basis for a successful cooperation of the two countries in the fields of economy and infrastructure and said that she expected Azerbaijani companies to take part in the realization of big new infrastructural projects.
– We are open for cooperation with Azerbaijan on new projects. The company AzVirt is our reliable partner, which we previously showed by building the section of Corridor 11 from Ljig to Preljina – Mihajlovic said.
She also signed the Agreement on Cooperation in Quarantining and Protection of Plants between the two governments.
As part of the official visit to Azerbaijan, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic signed the joint action plan for cooperation between the two countries with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Furthermore, the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in Healthcare and Medical Science was signed between the ministries of health of Serbia and Azerbaijan.
Serbian Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic and Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between the two states in the field of administration of justice, according to which the two ministries will cooperate in jobs within their competence and share experiences and practices to the end of harmonizing national legislation with international standards, says the website of the Ministry of Justice.
In line with the signed document, the ministries will also exchange experiences in the field of international legal aid in civil and criminal procedures. Also, the two sides will cooperate in enhancing electronic administration of justice, modernizing the justice system, education and training of justice administration staff, enhancing justice professions and exchanging experiences in the field of reform and modernization of penalties in line with international standards.
