Monasteries Gračanica, Peć-based Patriarchate and Church of Bogorodica Ljeviška on the protected list of UNESCO?
Soon, there could be another 3 Serbian Orthodox sacred facilities on the list of the world inheritance protected by UNESCO. Monasteries Gračanica near Priština and Peć-based Patriarchate and Church of Bogorodica Ljeviška near Prizren are nominated for the List of the world cultural and natural inheritance for the year 2006, on which monastery Dečani has its place since 2003. Talks with UNESCO on rehabilitation of Church of Bogorodica Ljeviška have already taken place. That church, with paintings dating from 14th century, is in very poor condition after the fire Albanians set in March 2004.
