New investor planning to employ 2,500 people in Vranje – City continues infrastructural equipping of Industrial Zone

The City of Vranje wants to offer the best possible working conditions to all interested investors, and the traffic route around the Industrial Zone will contribute to this, the construction of which begins today, stated Mayor of Vranje Slobodan Milenkovic on Friday, May 11, 2018.

Milenkovic said that the traffic route connecting the two roundabouts between the factories of Italian investors already operating in Vranje, Geox and Ditre Italia, would be 600 meters long and nine meters wide.

– The value of the investment is around half a million euros. The city has set aside EUR 200,000, whereas EUR 300,000 is donated by the European Union through the EU Progress Program. There's a strategic plan for the infrastructural equipping of the Free Zone, in which the sewer system has been completed so far, all with the support of the Ministry of Economy – Milenkovic said.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Dragan Stevanovic said that the ministry had invested more than RSD 250 million in the infrastructural equipping of Free Zone Vranje up till then through a partnership with the city.

He also announced that the Ministry of Economy was negotiating with a big investor which should soon open its facilities in Vranje, in which over 2,500 workers will be employed.
