Russian gas company Gazprom increased its production by 9.1% to 177.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas for period between January - April 2018.

European gas delivery increased by 6.3% to 70.3 billion m3, the company stated.

In April only, Gazprom exported 15.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is a historical record amount for the month of April for the company.

Last year, Gazprom increased its gas exports to Europe by 8.2% to 194.4 billion cubic meters of gas.

There will be a high demand for Russian gas in Europe this summer due to the low reserves in underground gas storage facilities in European countries, says the company's CEO Alexey Miller.
