Serbia had 11% more tourists in the first quarter of 2018

In the first three months of the current year 584,010 tourists stayed in Serbia, which is an increase by 11% compared to the same period last year, stated the National Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS)

The number of domestic tourists was 320,400 or 10% more, and the number of foreign tourists was 263,610 or 12% more.

Overnight stays in the first quarter amounted to 1.73 million, which is an increase by 11% compared to the same period last year.

Of that number, domestic tourists made 63% or 1.093 million overnight stays, a 9% increase, and foreigners made 633,787 overnight stays, a 14% increase compared to the period of first three months of 2017.


Domestic guests stayed mostly in mountain (53%) and spa resorts (23%). Almost 50% of foreign tourists stayed in Belgrade while the second favourite destination was Kopaonik mountain resort.

The highest number of overnight stays, 51,076, was made by Romanian tourists, making an increase by 63% compared to the same period in 2017.
