Ansaldo Energia to deliver equipment for cogeneration facility in Pancevo – Job worth EUR 40 million
The power plant for the combined production of electrical and heating energy in Pancevo is owned by TE-TO Pancevo, a joint company of Centroenergoholding, owned by Gazprom Energoholding, and Serbia's NIS, in majority ownership of Gazprom Neft.
Shanghai Electric Group is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the power plant under a turnkey model.
The facility will produce electrical and heating energy using natural gas.
As per the agreement with Shanghai Electric Group, Ansaldo Energia will deliver two AE64.3A gas turbines, the accompanying WY18Z air-cooled generators and side systems.
Ansaldo Energia is 59.9% owned by Cdp Equity in the state-owned Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group, whereas 40% is owned by Shanghai Electric.
In October 2017, the Chinese company and TE-TO Pancevo signed an agreement on the construction of a co-generation facility in Pancevo.
The electrical and the heating energy produced will be used by the Pancevo oil refinery, owned by NIS. The construction is planned to begin by mid-2018, and the production is expected to start by the end of 2019.
