Serbia to get first digital farm – AgTech complex near Backa Topola to open on March 20
The digital farm was designed by the BioSense Institute as the European Center of Excellence for advanced technologies in sustainable agriculture and food safety as a place in which innovative technologies will be implemented in an actual production environment – on a farm. This is a unique space designed to support digital transformation of agriculture in Serbia, the region and Europe and bridge the gap between science and agriculturists. The opening has been scheduled for March 20.
The digital farm will enable agriculturists to get to know the latest technological achievements (smart irrigation and fertilization, field mapping, remote control, satellite supervision and similar), test them and witness their potential.
Furthermore, the digital farm will enable scientists from the BioSense Institute and the region to experiment and test prototypes of innovative AgTech solutions.
Latest generation technologies developed at the BioSense Institute will be presented, namely, the AgroSens digital platform for monitoring crops and providing support to agriculturists, as well as innovative agricultural machines already used by the agricultural producer Krivaja d.o.o.
The digital farm, as an open space for cooperation, will enable Serbian, regional and European agriculturists, companies, scientists, startups and other end users to work together to create solutions for the big challenges faced by agriculture.
The digital farm is a part of the Antares project, jointly financed by the EU and the Government of Serbia.
