Serbia and Germany sign new Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan

The head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Lieutenant Milan Rankovic, and the defense delegate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Belgrade, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Mann, signed the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan between the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia for 2018 on Wednesday, March 7.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense, they agreed that the cooperation in the field of defense was intensive and substantial.

Lieutenant Rankovic pointed out that, in addition to a continuation of development in the key fields, the Ministry of Defense also placed emphasizes on enhancing the military-economic cooperation. The purchase of Airbus' H-145M helicopters for the Serbian Armed Forces might provide the momentum for the future intensification of the military-economic cooperation and cooperation in general.


Liutenant Colonel Becker said that Germany was ready to continue supporting Serbia, especially through the program of support in training and education, as well as through sharing its experiences of taking part in the activities of the Common Foreign and Security Policy, the EU Battlegroup concept and the projects of the European Defense Agency.
