This year alone, close to 3,000 new jobs are expected to be created in Leskovac, says Mayor Goran Cvetanovic.

The construction of a factory of the British company Aptiv Packard, at which at least 2,000 people will work, is in progress in the industrial zone in Leskovac, whereas another 350 jobs will be available at the new textile factory Jeanci Serbia, agencies report.

As Juzne Vesti reports, another 500 workers will be employed in Leskovac beginning with June 2018. They will be employed at the new facility within the factory, and as Park Jong Fan, Director General of Yura Serbia, says, just as many citizens of Leskovac will be employed once the business develops.

As Jong Fan says, they decided to open another facility in Leskovac because, in addition to having a good cooperation with the town, the workers in Leskovac are the best trained for the job and have no problem doing what’s required of them.

– We have been monitoring the work of our employees in all the three factories we’ve opened in Serbia so far and it has turned out that the workers in Leskovac are the best trained for this kind of work and that they are the most willing to do what’s required of them. In late May or early June, we will start employing another 500 workers, which will take several months – Jong Fan says.

It was announced earlier that another 1,000 workers would be employed at the Leskovac factory, and the company now says that 500 are to be employed initially, and then another 500 when the business develops. As said in November 2017, around EUR 40 million will be invested in the two new facilities.

The factory in Leskovac, which opened in 2012, currently has 2,250 workers.

Let us remind that Yura produces electronic components for the automotive industry, primarily cable installations, but also spark-plugs, coils and coil cables. It arrived to Serbia in 2010, it is headquartered in Raca, and in addition to these two towns, it also has facilities in Nis.
