Russia’s Yandex LLC to help Kragujevac become a Smart City – Memorandum to be signed on February 27
The Russian company obliges by contract to create a detailed map of Kragujevac and launch the mobile apps Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Transport, the website of the City Administration announces.
At its latest session, held on February 21, the City Council approved the signing of this memorandum.
Yandex LLC employs over 6,500 people, and the company has around 100 million users in eight countries.
Let us remind that the minister without a portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development, Nenad Popovic, announced this January that the most renowned Russian innovation and technology company Yandex would arrive to Serbia and invest in the IT sector.
The minister pointed out at the time that Yandex was also interested in preparing digital navigation maps of Serbia, to be used as the basis for all other geoservices that might be developed in the country, thereby creating conditions for having the number of Russian tourists in Serbia increase.
