Egston System Electronics starts producing cable systems in Pancevo
Harald Hofmann, the company's project manager for Serbia, says in a statement published on the website of the City of Pancevo that “the choice to have production organized in Pancevo was made after a visit to several locations in Serbia”.
– The decisive factor was the support we had received from the Provincial institutions and the remarkable support by the City of Pancevo. Of course, another important factor was that we had found and leased adequate space. We are grateful to the brothers Krsanin and the company Tehnomarket for renting their former factory premises to us – he said.
In Pancevo, this company produces cable systems, especially for the mechanical construction industry, as well as for other types of special-purpose vehicles.
Around 100 new jobs are planned for Pancevo in the next 2-3 years, and, as said on the website of the City of Pancevo, “the opening of this company is in fact the first true direct foreign investment in the territory of Pancevo”.
The seat of this company, which has been active since 1991, is located in Eggenburg, Austria, and it also has two plants in the Czech Republic and one each in China and India.
Egston employs around 1,400 people working on development, production and sale of various products, such as induction components, transformers, chokes, coils, cables, chargers and power supply units, components for the automotive industry and tools for casting and manufacture of plastic components.
