Iran Air to launch flights from Belgrade to Tehran on January 27 – Qeshm Air to arrive in February
The launch was previously announced for January 13, but passengers will only be able to travel from Belgrade to Tehran without making a stopover beginning this Saturday. The direct Tehran-Belgrade-Tehran flight is being implemented after two-year negotiations. The line has been launched by Iran Air, and they are also to get competition on February 1. Another Iranian company, Qeshm Air, will also fly between the capitals of Serbia and Iran.
– Iran Air will fly the route twice a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays, with landings planned for 10 am and departures for 11 am – the Nikola Tesla Airport says.
– From February 1, flights of Qeshm Air are to be carried out on the Tehran-Belgrade-Tehran route twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. Landings are planned for 2:50 pm and departures from Belgrade for 4:05 pm.
Iran Air will use a 156-seat Airbus A320 on the line to Belgrade. Qeshm Air has announced the same capacity and the same aircraft type.
The negotiations about the launch of direct flights began in 2016. Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali visited the Iran Civil Aviation Organization during his visit to Tehran. A direct connection between the two capitals should primarily enable a greater tourist traffic. Those in charge point out that the launch of a direct airline is very important for attracting investments from the country. They believe that the direct flight might lead to a strengthening of economic ties and facilitate investors' decision to expand their business to Serbia.
