(Aleksandar Bakoč, CEO of company "Algotech")
- Belgrade-based "Algotech" is the first Serbian technology company that entered the list of top 50 companies in central Europe which registered the quickest growth of incomes in the last five years - consulting-audit company "Deloitte" announced.
Among 150 technology companies that applied for the contest, "Algotech" was ranked 28th on this year's list of "Deloitte".
The first on the list, for the third year in a row, is Polish software company "Blue Media".
Majority of the quickest growing companies are from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. This year, companies from the transition markets, such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia and Serbia, joined them.
At average, the incomes of companies on the list grew by 1.271%, which is the biggest growth in the last nine years.
- Software companies took 24 places on the list and they are still dominant. However, increase in number of internet companies is expected in the future because the growing number software companies are "moving" to Internet sector and the number of Internet users in central and southeast urope is significantly growing - said Pavel Janeček, "Deloitte's" partner specialized for technology, media and telecommunications.
"Deloitte" points out that the list was formed after the technology companies applied for it, and the only conditions they were to meet were that they had registered annual incomes of over 50,000 EUR over the past five years and that their headquarters were situated in one of the countries of central Europe.
