The Government of the Republic of Serbia paid RSD 55 million to the City of Zajecar, so that the debt towards the Zajecar cable factory TF Kable might be repaid, Istocne Vesti reports.

At the same time, Mayor of Zajecar Bosko Nicic says that this will address the “injustice done by retroactive charging of the environmental fee” and adds that this is a signal for investors that the City of Zajecar is safe to invest in.

– I hope that the management of the Cable Factory, not just in Zajecar, but in Tele-Fonika in Poland as well, will be adequate and that the decision about moving the factory from Krakow to Zajecar will be reached after the holidays, as we've fulfilled what we've promised – Nicic said.

He reminded that the Polish side had promised to move the factory from Krakow to Zajecar if the City of Zajecar fulfilled its promise and repaid the money for the environmental fee to the cable factory.

Nicic said that the city management also negotiated with other potential investors.

– There are negotiations with a western European company which has a good reputation in the field of car cables and works for the 26 biggest car manufacturers in the world.
