Seveplant to employ another 50 workers in Kula – Company gets subsidies of RSD 23.7 million
The money for this company, which operates as part of one of the biggest planting material producers in Europe, the Dutch company Verbeek, has been provided by the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Development and Local Self-Government.
Puric said on this occasion that the Municipality of Kula had recognized Seveplant’s potential and supported it back in 2014, being a great partner in their efforts to have the area and the region developed through establishing perennial plantations.
He added that Kula was a great place for that sort of activity and that a cooling plant had been built in the industrial zone in Kula not too long before.
Seveplant Kula offers planting material to Serbian fruit growers under favorable conditions, and the quality is the same as that of the planting material in Italy and the Netherlands. The company produces certified planting material and clients in the local market may therefore apply for incentives with provincial and state institutions.
The plantation is located between Kula and Crvenka, taking up around 100 hectares. Around 3 million seedlings are produced annually, the majority consisting of apple seedlings.
The jobs here must be maintained in the period of three to five years following the realization of the project, and the new employees’ paid wages need to be at least 20% higher than the minimum wage in Serbia.
