IMF lowered prognosis of global economic growth in 2009 to 3% - prognosis of economic growth in Serbia without changes
International Monetary Fund lowered the prognosis of global economic growth in 2009 yesterday (October 8, 2008) to 3%, while the prognosis of economic growth in Serbia remained unchanged.
According to the semiannual prognosis of global economic trends, global economic growth will amount to 3.9% in 2008 and 3% in 2009, which is 0.9% less than in the prognosis made in July.
IMF also prognosed that the economic growth in Serbia in 2009 would amount to 6% and the same growth is expected this year. As far as Serbia is concerned, appraisal of value of deficit in 2008 is increased to 18.6% of gross national product (GNP), while the April report prognosed that the deficit would amount to 16.1%.
According to the new estimates of IMF, Serbia's deficit will amount to 19.3% of GNP in 2009.
