Four bids for concession of Nikola Tesla Airport, Chinese consortium withdraws
The bids for the concession management of the Belgrade Airport were submitted by the Swiss-French consortium of the Zurich Airport and the companies Eiffage and Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments, the Indian-Greek consortium of GMR Infrastructure ltd and Terna, the French company Vinci Airports and the South Korean-Turkish-Cypriot consortium of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Yatirimlari ve Islatme and VTB Capital Infrastructure.
The Chinese consortium of HNA and China National Aero-Technology, joined by the Cypriot company Severika, which qualified for the second phase of the contest, didn't submit a financial bid in line with the terms of the public invitation.
The Government of Serbia and the Nikola Tesla Airport opened the invitation on February 10, 2017. The concession of financing, development through construction and reconstruction, maintenance and management of the airport's infrastructure and performing the activities of an operator is given for a period of 25 years.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic previously said that a preliminary decision on the best bids would be reached before December 25 and that the selected concessionaire might pay between 350 and 450 million euros to the state budget immediately.
She promised that the agreement on the concession would be fully transparent and that the future concessionaire would also be paying an annual fee.
