The first state Data Center in Serbia will open in the premises of the Office for IT and eGovernment in Belgrade on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

The Data Center will house the crucial information and communication infrastructure, important to efficient functioning of electronic government and developing new services for the citizens and the corporate sector, which will lead to a more economic usage of the existing and new resources.

As announced by the Government of Serbia, the center will be opened by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, the director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanovic, and the director of Telekom Srbija, Predrag Culibrk, Beta reports.

Let us remind that, following the establishment of the Office for IT and eGovernment, it was announced that one of the priorities was to form a state data center which would contain all the data at the disposal of the public administration and local self-government, as well as to form a work group for the preparation of a feasibility study for a disaster recovery center in cooperation with Telekom Srbija.

In late September, the Government of Serbia also founded a special work group for the preparation of a feasibility study for a state data center.
