The proposal of the budget for 2018 will be on the agenda of the National Assembly of Serbia at the session on December 6, Tanjug learned at the parliament.

The Government of Serbia adopted the draft law on budget for 2018 on November 29. The budget plans an income of RSD 1,178 billion and expenditures of RSD 1,207 billion.

The planned fiscal deficit of the Republic for the next year amounts to 0.6% of the GDP, that is, RSD 28.4 billion, which is RSD 40.7 billion lower than the deficit planned by the budget for 2017.

Minister of Finance of Serbia Dusan Vujovic stated on December 4 that, in 2018, more funds would be set aside from the state budget for capital expenditures – RSD 128.3 billion, which is 2.7% of the expected GDP.

He said at the session of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending of the National Assembly of Serbia that the majority of the money for investments, RSD 54 billion, was meant for infrastructure.

At the end of 2017, according to Vujovic, the state budget will have a surplus of 0.7% of the GDP, even though a deficit was planned.
