The construction of a tunnel in the location of the bus station at the Pancevo Bridge, is to begin in 2019, said City Manager Goran Vesic, as reported by Beoinfo.

– This will enable for a reduction of the number of vehicles in the city's center by 14% – he said and added that the tender for a tunnel beneath Topcidersko Brdo would be placed next year.

He clarified that a new cycle of works and reconstruction in Belgrade would begin in 2018, encompassing the Kraljice Marije, Dzordza Vasingtona and Cara Dusana Streets.

– We will also be reconstructing the Kneza Milosa Street, but only the sidewalks are to be worked on next year, whereas, in 2019, an underground garage with the capacity of around 450 parking spaces will be built. The Republic Square will be reconstructed and four underground garages, those in the Kosovska Street, the Republic Square, the Student Square and the Kosancicev Venac Street, will be built as well.

The construction of the bridge on the Sava, meant to replace the current tram bridge, will also start. The bridge will feature four lanes, as well as tram tracks. Once this is completed, the construction of a tunnel between the Sava and the Danube will begin.
