Slavija, Oslobodjenja Blvd and Ruzveltova Street open for traffic – Reconstruction of Republic Square and Kneza Milosa Street in 2018

A hundred and eighty days from the beginning of the works, the Slavija Square, the Oslobodjenja Blvd and the Ruzveltova Street opened for traffic today, City Manager Goran Vesic stated, as reported by Beoinfo.

– We were trying to do this job in as small amount time as possible. The reconstruction has been carried out thoroughly, all the installations have been replaced and there's a new lane in the Oslobodjenja Blvd. The flow of traffic should now increase on the Slavija Square, and the pedestrian crossings are no longer located on the square itself, while all the bus stops have been moved as well – Vesic clarified.

Furthermore, bicycle lanes are now present in the Ruzveltova Street and the Oslobodjenja Blvd, the city manager said.

Vesic said that the reconstruction of the Republic Square, the construction of four underground garages and the reconstruction of the Kneza Milosa Street would start in 2018.

Let us remind that the initial deadline for the completion of the reconstruction of Slavija was November 7.
