Council of ministers China plus 16 concerning energy by 2019 in Serbia?

Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia Aleksandar Antic stated in Bucharest that the Chinese minister of energy had assured him that the country would support the idea of having the next meeting of the ministers China plus 16 in the field of energy organized in Serbia.

– I believe that this will be a great opportunity for Serbia, to have businessmen, public enterprises, everybody dealing in energy, from China and all the countries in the region, brought together, and that this cooperation could greatly benefit all our countries – Antic told the press.

He added that he hoped that China's support would contribute to having the gathering organized in Belgrade in 2018 or 2019 at the latest and that it would be important for it to be accompanied by a serious business forum.

Antic attended the council of ministers China plus 16 in Bucharest.

He said that he talked to numerous representatives of energy companies from China, Romania and the region during his visit, and he highlighted his meeting with the vice-president of Power China as the most important one.

– This company is one of the globally most important and biggest energy companies and has a great interest in cooperating with Serbia. They've recognized this region and opened both the regional office and the office for Serbia in order to follow our projects and be there to offer cooperation – Antic said.

He added that the company was showing great interest in developing the project of the heating pipeline between Obrenovac and Belgrade power plants.

– We see it as a project of capital importance for our energy system and one of the best project being developed at the moment – Antic said.
