The purchaser of Galenika, the Luxembourg-based company Aelius, paid the EUR 16 million it had offered at the tender for the privatization of the Serbian pharmaceutical company.

It is expected that EUR 25 million for Galenika's debts, as well as severance packages for the employees who have opted for the social program, will be paid by the end of the week.

Aelius S.A.R.L Luxembourg is related to EMS S/A Brazil.

At the tender for the privatization of the company, they offered EUR 16 million for 93.73% of the capital, plus the repayment of Galenika's debts in the amount of EUR 25 million.

The purchaser also obliges to pay an additional EUR 200 per year of service to the employees who have opted for the voluntary social program and to invest EUR 5.52 million in Galenika over the next two years.
