Germany's Gruner opens new facility in Vlasotince

A new production facility of Gruner opened yesterday in Vlasotince, and Serbian President and Aleksandar Vucic and the company's management cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony.

Vucic said that the total investment amounted to EUR 6.5 million, of which Serbia had provided EUR 3.2 million.

A total of 50 people are employed at the new facility, which brings the number of employees in the factory to 480. The plan is for another 50 workers to be hired at the new facility by 2020.

A workshop for the training of the students of the Industrial Mechanic profile from the Technical School in Vlasotince was opened as part of the new facility. First grade students will thereby work at the school workshops, second grade students will spend two days a week at the workshop, wheres third grade students will spend three days a week at the factory and receive financial compensation.


The new hall produces plastic components and will soon start producing metal parts as well, both for Gruner and for other factories.

The new facility takes up 3,000 square meters and Gruner now owns a total of 7,000 square meters in Vlasotince.

In addition to Germany and Serbia, Gruner also operates in India and Tunisia.

The opening was also attended by Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic and Ambassador of Germany to Serbia Axel Dittmann.
