Protocol on construction of Novi Sad-Zrenjanin-Borca route signed
The protocol was signed as part of the joint session of the two governments, held in Belgrade, and is the first step towards the construction of two traffic routes important to Banat and Vojvodina, which will provide an even better connection between Novi Sad, Belgrade and Zrenjanin.
Regarding the first route, a preliminary design with a feasibility study for the construction of an additional two lanes on the IB-class state road 12 on the Novi Sad-Zrenjanin route is to be prepared.
As for the second project, a spatial plan for the special purpose area and a preliminary design with a feasibility study for the construction of the IB-class state road 13 on the Zrenjanin-Borca section is to be prepared.
The preparation of the planning and technical documentation will be financed from the state and the provincial budgets, each contributing with 50%.
The signing of the protocol actualized the agreement between the deputy prime minister and the provincial prime minister reached in February regarding the joint preparation of the technical documentation for these two sections, in order for the Zrenjanin-Borca and Novi Sad-Zrenjanin projects to be prepared for realization once the current works on Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 are completed.
The total value of infrastructural projects being carried out in Vojvodina in 2017 and 2018 amounts to close to EUR 1.2 billion, and the joint Working Group for monitoring the realization of infrastructural projects in the territory of Vojvodina was formed in February 2017 for the purpose of a better coordination of the Republic of Serbia and the Province.
