Bulgarian-Greece project “From Sea to Sea” to get two new branches towards Serbia and Romania
– The aim is for the region to be a region of peace and stability, and not of problems for the Union – it was said in Varna.
The Bulgarian-Greek project “From Sea to Sea”, which aims to connect the three main ports in each country by railway, will get two new branches – towards Serbia and Romania. This was agreed by the prime ministers of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania and the president of Serbia. The region will thereby attract new investments from both the east and the west and advance economically, RTS reports.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the interconnection with Bulgaria was important for Serbia and that the biggest part of preparations for it had been completed, as well as that he expected it to be realized as soon as possible.
The idea of infrastructural connecting of the countries of the eastern Balkans was born in early July in Thessaloniki at the trilateral meeting between Tsipras, Borisov and Vucic. The funds for strategic investments should be provided from the EU funds.
On the other hand, the entrance of China to the Port of Piraeus has made the route interesting to the most populated country in the world for an entrance to the European market, RTS reports.
