Serbia to get new honorary consul in Slovakia

Serbia is opening a new consulate in Slovakia, to be headed by an honorary consul, it was announced in the latest issue of the Official Gazette.

As stated in the decision by the Government of Serbia of August 31, the consulate in the city of Martin, Slovakia, will be in charge of the territory of the regions of Zilina, Banska Bystrica and Trencin.

The decision, which was signed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, came into effect on September 8, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for its enforcement.


Serbia already has an honorary consul in Slovakia, in Kosice.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic announced on September 10 that Serbia was also to open a consulate in Vietnam, in the Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), to be headed by honorary consul Dragan Mladenovic.

According to the ministry, Serbia has honorary consuls in 57 countries.
