Miskovic interested in Esplanade hotel in Zagreb – Delta plans to enter stock exchange

After the opening of Hotel InterContinental Ljubljana, Delta Holding continues expanding its hotel business in the region. Delta is open about their goal being to have hotels in Zagreb, Podgorica and Tirana.

Miroslav Miskovic says that his company is planning to buy some of the existing hotels in Zagreb, whereas Marija Desivojevic Cvetkovic, Senior Vice President for strategy and development in Delta, explains that they are aiming at the Esplanade hotel, but also adds that they have not yet initiated concrete talks.

– At the moment, our decision is not to start building a new hotel, but to take over an existing one which might fit into the top standards set by InterContinental. This job requires authorization by the other side, and we are eyeing Esplanade – she said.

When asked whether they are interested in spreading the hotel business along the Croatian coast, Desivojevic says that they are not a company interested in the tourism sector, as they are oriented towards opening high-category business hotels in big capitals.

Delta Holding also says that the company's next step is entering the stock exchange. As they explain, they want their Delta Agrar to list in London or Warsaw in a year and a half.

– We are working on this and we intend to gather new funds for investments in the agricultural sector through the stock exchange, as that sector is very successful for us, breaking all the records – Desivojevic said.

When asked whether Delta is considering spreading its agricultural business to Croatia, especially in case certain Agrokor's companies are put up for sale, Ivan Kostic, Vice President for agriculture in Delta, notes that they are doing great business with Agrokor's companies in Serbia, especially Dijamant, and adds that they might be interested in certain companies in Serbia, but not in Croatia at the moment.
