Better heating for residents of Podbara in 2018/19 - Agreement on reconstruction of Toplana Istok Novi Sad signed

JKP Novosadska Toplana completed the tender for the reconstruction of Toplana Istok, after the Commission for the Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures dismissed the complaint regarding the public procurement procedure.

The contract has been awarded to a group of bidders – Energotehnika Juzna Backa and NS Koncept from Novi Sad, Delta Inzenjering from New Belgrade and Remming from Srbobran, the only ones to submit a bid.

The tender opened back in May, but was soon halted over a complaint by the company Gat, which was dismissed as unfounded by the commission in June. As Toplana got the decision in late August, the public procurement procedure has only now been completed.

The reconstruction of Toplana Istok is one of the most valuable investments of Novosadska Toplana this year. It will enable an improvement in heating primarily in the Podbara area. The two obsolete and out-of-function boilers of 18 MW each are to be removed, whereas a new boiler of 58 MW is to be installed, providing together with the existing boiler of equal power a total of over 110 MW of power. The needs of Podbara, which amount to 196 MW, will therefore be met to a greater extent.

The deadline period for the works is 210 days, so the residents of Podbara can expect to have better heating in the 2018/19 winter season.
