Czech Republic to facilitate working visas for workers from Serbia - 200.000 of different profiles missing

Record low unemployment in the Czech Republic led to the fact that 200,000 workers of all profiles and professions are missing in this country. That's why many companies are forced to refuse orders, and they tried to solve problem by moving workforce from Ukraine. It was not enough and now they are aiming at Serbia, Vecernje novosti reports.A concrete proposal was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, which suggested accelerated employment regime for Serbian citizens. First of all, they are interested in hiring workers from automotive industry.
Mirolsav Diro, spokesman of the Chamber of Commerce says they addressed the Ministry of the Internal Affairs whose competence is to facilitate import of labor force.
- A concrete solution has not yet been proposed or scope and structure of demand of Czech employers - Hana Mala from this Czech ministry says.

Special regime of Serbian citizens would, first of all, have to be considered by the Government of the Czech Republic and tripartite body of government, trade unions and employers.
- Last year, 284 work permits were issued to Serbs with a long-term stay. Others came based on Schengen visas for a maximum of 90 days, Jirji Kral from the Czech Embassy in Belgrade said for the Prague press.
