AIK Bank and Apollo investment fund sole bidders for Gorenjska Banka
Although they previously expressed interest, neither Telekom Slovenije nor Grupacija Kolektor have submitted bids.
The Slovenian company Sava, along with other creditors, is selling a 55% stake in Gorenjska Banka, and the sales procedure is run by UniCredit.
Let us remind that AIK Bank entered the ownership structure of Gorenjska Banka in January 2016 through a capital increase worth EUR 12.3 million, which had been required by the Bank of Slovenia. The Serbian bank thereby became the second biggest shareholders in Gorenjska Banka, with nearly 14% of the shares, whereas, in February 2017, it received authorization from Slovenian regulatory authorities to increase its share in GB to above 50%.
