The European Commission has exempted Serbia from the antidumping investigation of the import of hot-rolled steel products, which encompassed five countries, writes the Metal Bilten portal, which viewed the preliminary document of the EC.

This means that Zelezara Smederevo, owned by Chinese Hesteel, will not be paying any penalties.

The other four countries still under investigation, Russia, Ukraine, Iran and Brazil, will have antidumping customs measures imposed on them when it comes to the export of the said products.

Even though the EC has determined that all five countries are trading hot-rolled steel products at, as claimed, dumping prices, it has decided to close the investigation of the export from Serbia, as the conclusion is that the amounts in question are negligible.
