The Government of Serbia has appointed Rados Gazdic as the acting director of the Development Agency of Serbia. Previously, he was the head of the strategic investments sector at the agency, it was reported in the Official Gazette.

His predecessor was Zeljko Sertic, who has failed to receive approval from the Anti-Corruption Agency to simultaneously perform that function and be a member of the Managing Board of the Bank of China Belgrade, which opened this January.

Sertic was appointed acting director of the DAS in October 2016, and he was previously the Minister of Economy of Serbia. The DAS was founded on January 11, 2016, in line with the Law on Investments, which closed the Foreign Investments and Export Promotion Agency and the National Agency for Regional Development.

The core activity of the DAS is to support micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs to the end of strengthening the economy of Serbia, to support direct investments and export promotion, to raise Serbia's reputation and regional development.
