This week, the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport will be visited by representatives of all five companies which have entered the race for the concession, Vecernje Novosti reports.

As the newspaper writes, potential concessionaires will be visiting the airport from Monday till Friday, whereas the management will have the task of presenting it to them in the best light.

The potential concessionaires are the Swiss-French consortium of the Zurich Airport and the companies Eiffage and Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments, the Indian-Greek consortium of GMR Infrastructure Limited and Terna, the French Company Vinci Airports, the Southern Korean-Turkish-Cypriot consortium of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Yatirimlari ve Islatme, VTB Capital Infrastructure and the Chinese consortium of HNA and China National Aero-Technology.

They should submit binding offers by mid-September, and, before they do so, they will have an opportunity to “scan” one of Serbia's most successful companies.

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic stated that she expected that it would be known who the concessionaire of the Nikola Tesla Airport would be in the autumn.

– The paperwork and the administrative procedures should officially be completed in March 2018, but the concessionaire will be known this autumn and the talks about the agreement will start then – Mihajlovic announced and added that the process was in progress and that talks were being carried out.

– We first need to receive all the binding bids and examine them step by step. We do everything carefully – Mihajlovic said and added that the only interest was for the airport's long-term development.

Mihajlovic also said that all the plans and all the studies of global experts spoke in favor of the possibility of the airport's long-term growth.

One of the interested candidates, the Zurich Airport, has confirmed that it is preparing a binding offer in the tender procedure for the concession of the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, together with Eiffage and Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments.

– Our two partners, Eiffage and Meridiam, are dedicated to a long-term success of the Nikola Tesla Airport and they bring important experience in infrastructural projects in central and eastern Europe – stated Philipp Bircher, Spokesman of the Zurich Airport.
