The ad for sale of IMK 14. oktobar in bankruptcy has been answered by one company, which has offered around RSD 485 million, and the decision on the sale is to be reached by the Board of Creditors, as the offer is lower than the half of the estimated value of the property.

– At the sale held on June 28, the sales committee determined that the best offer (the only offer), the one made by SCMG 14. oktobar, amounts to RSD 485,031,896 – says the Bankruptcy Supervision Agency, which is in charge of carrying out the bankruptcy procedure in the Krusevac-based company.

According to the data from the ad, the property of IMK 14. oktobar has been evaluated at RSD 4.85 billion, and the Agency said that, seeing how the bid is lower than the half of the said amount, the bankruptcy supervisor would address the Board of Creditors directly for the purpose of reaching the final decision about the offer.

SCMG 14. oktobar Belgrade was founded in March 2016, according to the data from the website of the Business Registers Agency, with the capital contribution of RSD 8 million by Czechoslovak Group A.S.

In the past year, there have been several allegations in the public about the Czech company Tatra's being interested in purchasing 14. oktobar.

This is the fifth attempt at selling the company and the first one carried out through the method of direct bidding with submission of written bids.

Over the past year and a half of the company's being in bankruptcy, its sale as a whole has been advertised four times, without anyone being interested.

According to the previously published data, 1,558 former workers have claims towards IMK 14. oktobar of over a billion dinars in unpaid salaries from 2014 and 2015, whereas the total claims of the creditors amount to RSD 13.6 billion.

The factory, which had 8,500 workers in the 1980s, has been gradually losing workers in the past decades. In late 2015, prior to the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, a social program was carried out and the remaining 690 workers left the factory.
