Serbian pavilion from London Olympics put up for sale
The four-story building is located at 7 Dering Street, only a dozen meters away from the Oxford Street.
– The Olympic Committee opened the facility prior to the Olympics. Later on, Jat gave it to the Government of Serbia as debt settlement, but the building is not operational and will be sold just like all the other facilities throughout the world we no longer need – Dacic said for Kurir.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Veljko Odalovic said that the building in London was indeed owned by Serbia and that there were no plans for it to be used for any purpose. He added that two or three cultural events have taken place in the building since the completion of the Olympics.
– If, for example, the Ministry of Culture proposed for the building to be a place where Serbia would promote itself, it would then have a purpose. Otherwise, it serves no function and will be sold – Odalovic added.
