Increase in prices of electricity and coal not planned – Production in Kolubara mining basin stabilized
– The prices of coal are to remain the same and there's no plan to increase them, nor are there plans to increase the price of electricity – Grcic said and added that the production of coal in the first quarter of 2017 had been around 6.5% lower than projected.
– There were unforeseen problems in Vreoci, there were cracks in the mass and a landslide has appeared. We had to remove two enormous systems, expensive equipment which costs EUR 200 million in each instance, in order to save it. Now we've managed to mitigate the landslide, return the equipment and the production in Kolubara has stabilized. The depots at thermal power plants are being filled and we've already exceeded 600,000 tons, so we will be absolutely ready for the winter – he emphasized.
As he said, the tenth millionth ton of coal has been produced in Kolubara and the plan will have been fulfilled by the end of the current month, and the projected amount of 28.1 million tons will be achieved in 2017.
– As for Kolubara, the energy stability will be absolutely maintained – Grcic emphasized and added that the preceding winter had been one of the coldest winters in the previous period and that, despite that, there would be enough coal for the next one, both dried coal and raw coal for households.
