Test run begins at wind farm at Krnovo – EUR 120 million invested in 26 turbines at Niksic

The test run has been initiated at the wind farm in Krnovo, Montenegro, the first wind farm in this country. The realization of the project began in 2015, and around EUR 120 million was invested in it, the regional media report.

The wind farm has 72 MW of power and consists of 26 turbines. It is expected to produce around 200 GWh annually, which is enough for 50 thousand households and makes up more than 6% of the total production of electricity in the country.

The project at Krnovo is being realized by the Austrian company Ivicom Consulting and the French company Akuo Energy, the construction representative is the newly founded Krnovo Green Energy, and the funds are provided by the EBRD, KfW and Proparco, the French Development Financial Institution.
