US Chamber of Commerce stimulates development of information-communication technologies in Serbia
American Chamber of Commerce to Serbia presented the Board for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) yesterday (June 5, 2008), which has been formed to contribute to development of these fields in Serbia.
- Through dialogue and intensive activities on introduction of technologies in all segments of society, the Board will try to make the work of the government administration and everyday life of citizens of Serbia easier - said the President of the newly formed Board, Svjetlana Brekić.
She pointed out tha the ICT sector was the initiator of development in all modern economies and that it was still insufficiently used development opportunity of Serbia.
Berkić said that the Board would provide support and stimulus for development of electronic administration, it would try to reduce bureacracy obstacles and procedures and stimulate competition by opening existing infrastructure for supply of information and communication services.
The US Chamber of Commerce comprises 180 foreign and local companies members, with total investments exceeding 6 billion USD, which provide jobs for more than 60,000 people in Serbia.
