The Government of Slovenia has adopted the Draft Law on protection of companies of systematic importance, the so-called Lex Mercator.

According to Croatian media, the draft law is supposed to prevent Agrokor from using Mercator’s funds, as the company is financially independent, despite being a member of Agrokor.

The draft law aims to protect the systematically important company from its insolvent majority owner.

It proposes appointing a compulsory management member in companies of systematic importance to Slovenia.
