Mitsubishi considering construction of EUR 200 million factory in Romania – Potential location close to Serbian border
The company's representatives already talked to the Romanian authorities in early March, but a final agreement is yet to be reached. Potential locations include the Timis County, next to the Serbian border, as well as the Prahova County in central Romania.
It's important for Mitsubishi for the factory to be located close to a highway so that it could have a good transport link with central and western Europe.
The investment will amount to more than EUR 200 million and will enable new employments.
Romania is not the only country being considered by the Japanese producer. Mitsubishi is also discussing the construction of a new factory with the authorities in Hungary and Slovakia, both of which boast a developed automotive industry.
