The Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has started preparing the construction of an industrial park in Serbia, supported by the Chinese government, which is interested in financing the project, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Serbia reported on March 1.

Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic talked to the president of CRBC, Lu Shan, who confirmed that the industrial park would be built in the shortest amount of time possible.

An important segment of the future industrial park will be meant for the agricultural industry.

The aim is to have as many renowned Chinese companies as possible involved in the project in order to secure strong trade of agricultural products and a long-term export of Serbian products to the market of China. The Chinese government is ready to finance the project and will make great efforts to have the first results visible by the end of 2017, the press release says.

The press release doesn’t disclose the location of the industrial park. Blic writes that a logistics center for the export to China will be raised in the agri-zone in proximity to the Pupin Bridge, built by the Chinese. The Chinese and the Serbian ministries of agriculture will also soon sign an action plan for trade and investments in agriculture. After that, Serbia will form an office for trade and investments with China, Blic reports.
