MIHAJLOVIC: Works on Surcin-Obrenovac highway to start on March 1

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic announced on Friday, February 17, that the works on the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac highway would start on March 1 and that they should be completed in November 2019.

– The works on the construction of the section of Corridor 11, the Surcin-Obrenovac highway, should start on March 1, in the zone of the new bridge on the Sava, which will be a part of this section. The project documentation has been prepared and the expropriation in the zone of the bridge has been completed as well – Mihajlovic said.

She added that the building permits for this section would be issued in phases.

– The deadline for the completion of works on the construction of this section is November 2019 – the minister said.

Deputy Prime Minister said that she expected the works on the sections from Obrenovac to Ub and from Lajkovac to Ljig, in the total length of 50.2 kilometers, being built by the Chinese company Shandong Hi-Speed Group, to be completed within the deadline, i.e. by November 2017.

– This way, the Obrenovac-Preljina highway will be completed this year – Mihajlovic said.
