Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced on January 29, 2017, that one of the best innovative lighting system manufacturers, the Austrian company Zumtobel, would open a factory in Nis, the Government of Serbia website says.

Vucic notified the citizens of Nis of this through a letter published on the website and announced that the Austrian company would invest EUR 30 million in the factory.

– As a representative of the Government of Serbia, I am especially happy today, in particular about what I promised during my seven-day stay in Nis, which is that one of the best producers of innovative lighting systems, the Austrian company Zumtobel, is definitely coming to Serbia – Vucic said.

He said that the Supervisory Board of the company had confirmed that on January 27, and the world media such as Reuters and Bloomberg have reported on this decision.

– We’ve worked long and hard on the arrival of this company and I can’t not be happy today over the fact that this company, which is referred to as the Mercedes in the world of the latest lighting technologies, has decided to build a new large factory in Nis and invest EUR 30 million in this remarkably important Serbian center – the prime minister said.

Vucic also said that he would like the people of Nis to understand how hard it was to bring such a partner to Serbia, not just to invest and initiate production, but to act as a driving engine and a provider of the latest technologies.

According to him, the company will stimulate innovation and be a serious partner to universities.

Zumtobel has factories in Germany, Austria, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, USA and China, and the prime minister noted that engineers and workers from Serbia were becoming members of the great family.
