People of Serbia prepared to ride in self-driving cars

The people of Serbia are very open to using self-driving cars, as shown by a Goodyear research carried out in cooperation with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

As reported by the company, the drivers' survey on self-driving cars was carried out online in 11 European countries with around 12,000 subjects.

According to the results, the people of Serbia have given the largest percentage of positive answers (28%) when asked whether they would feel comfortable riding in a self-driving car, placing them first on the list, ahead of the people of Spain and Poland.

Serbs also headed the list by the conviction that a ride in a self-driving car would be easier that driving one's own vehicle, with 43% positive answers.

When it comes to whether they'd feel comfortable sharing the road with self-driving cars, the people of Serbia were a bit more reserved and gave 28% affirmative answers, as oppose to 32% negative ones, placing them third, whereas the top spot was taken by the Polish, who gave the largest percentage of affirmative answers to the question.

As many as 48% Serbs believe that the majority of road accidents are caused by the human factor, thereby considering self-driving cars a safer option.

The survey encompassed Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Serbia, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain.
