EBRD to decide whether to approve loan of 100m EUR to "Serbian Railways"
European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development (EBRD) should make decision about whether to approve the loan of 100m EUR to "Serbian Railways" for infrastructural projects and procurement of railway vehicles.
The loan should be used for financing of procurement of 25 sets of electric compositions EMU with two or three cars (similar to once popular "rail bus") to be used at main intercity relations.
New compositions will replace the existing old passenger cars, which would increase speed and enhance quality of services and enable use of locomotives in freight traffic.
European Investment Bank (EIB) would provide additional funds for the program for reconstruction of main railway network, including Corridor 10 and Belgrade-Bar railway.
Total value of the project is 221m EUR and EBRD would approve the guaranteed loan in amount of 100m EUR for its realization.
