Ljubljanske Mlekarne is preparing a shipment of 21,000 liters of milk to China, following the delivery of 10,000 liters of durable milk from a month ago, reports RTV Slovenia.

Aside from Ljubljanske Mlekarne, the permits for the export of dairy products to China have also been acquired by Mlekarna Celeia, Pomurske Mlekarne and Mlekarna Planinka.

Pomurske Mlekarne is still negotiating about concrete jobs, and the entry to the Chinese market is expected next year.

Mlekarna Celeia doesn't produce goods durable enough for the Chinese market. They will start thinking about this market once new investments in the production are made.

Mlekarna Planinka usually looks for nearer markets for their products, and they're counting on the Chinese market in case of potential production surpluses.

By opening the Chinese market, Slovenian milk manufacture companies are provided with the possibility of entering a large market.

Permits were issued following the signing of the protocol on veterinary requirements, an especially important aspect given the current saturation of the European market, the report says.
