MK Fintel Wind opens first wind farm in south Banat – La Piccolina to provide electricity for around 5,500 households
This is the second wind farm built by MK Fintel Wind, and the total projected annual production is around 20 GW hours.
The construction was started in April by MK Fintel Wind, a mutual company of the Italian public enterprise Fintel Energia and the MK Group. So far, 1.5 million KW hours of electricity has been produced and the trial period officially ended today, following which the wind farm was put into operation at full capacity.
The plan is to build another such wind farm in the Vrsac area. The project is called Kosava and will have a total of 117 MW of power. Around EUR 50 million will be invested in the first phase.
Once the construction of that wind farm is completed, the MK Group alone will be producing 133 MW of power, which is nearly a third of what Serbia has obliged to produce to the Energy Community.
The first wind farm of the Italian-Serbian company in Serbia was built near Kula. The investment amounted to EUR 15 million and it has 9.9 MW of power and will produce 27 million KW hours of green energy a year, which is enough to provide for 8,000 households.
The opening in Zagajica was attended by Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, Provincial Secretary for Energy Nenad Grbic, CEO of Fintel Energia, Tiziano Giovannetti, and the chairperson of the Executive Board of UniCredit Bank Serbia, Csilla Ihasz.
