Annual income over RSD 2.2 million reported by 19,887 citizens of Serbia – Largest income up to EUR 2 million

Annual personal income tax returns for income generated in 2015 was filed by 19,887 citizens of Serbia, of which 68% are male and 32% female, the Tax Administration reports.

Most tax returns were filed in Belgrade, 13,979 of them, i.e. around 70% of the total number. Of the Belgrade municipalities, most tax returns were filed in New Belgrade – 3,567. In Novi Sad, 3,605 tax returns were filed, and in Nis and Kragujevac slightly over 1,100 each.

Citizens who made more than RSD 2,201,220 of income in 2015, i.e. more than three times the average salary in Serbia, were obliged to file annual personal income tax returns.


These include mostly economists, legal practitioners, engineers, medical doctors and managers and they mostly come from Belgrade and larger cities in Serbia.

Income reported by the top hundred tax payers ranges from RSD 30 to 250 million.

In 2015, 19,705 annual personal income tax returns for income generated in 2014 were filed in Serbia.
